    Esteem lightweight wheelchair

Very impressed with this wheelchair. It's light and easy to manoeuvre. Most importantly it is very easy to take off the sides, footrests and wheels and pack the chair into a surprisingly compact space in the car. Only drawbacks are that the wheels slip a bit on certain surfaces and the brakes are stiff but I'm sure these are teething problems.

Lightweight Esteem Wheelchair with Attendant Brakes

Does what it says on the tin. I have previously used this type of wheelchair with attendant brakes which were of a different design ie attendant brakes and static brakes were separate. Attendant brakes were like bicycle brakes (caliper type) so could be used to control speed downhill. These are different and utilise the static brake mechanism which just puts pressure on the face of the tyre so not as useful to control downhill speed (and clearly not intended to do so). Not an issue just an observation. Very happy with the quality and construction of the product.

Roma Orbit wheelchair with attendant brakes

Fine: this was not the wheelchair I wanted, but Mobility shop phoned me, explained it wouldn’t be in stock again till end of August, and suggested Roma Orbit. This arrived very quickly, well packaged, and easy to assemble. The only problem was that on the outside of the packaging it said I was to assemble it before signing for it. No chance! The delivery person required me to sign before he kindly brought the box in, and had gone before I’d a chance to read that label. Also it said I’d to phone within an hour and a half of receipt if anything was faulty or missing. I am disabled and live alone; it took me much longer than that to open the box and assemble the wheelchair. Apart from that, I am very pleased with the wheelchair and speedy delivery.
